My First Blog

I really never thought I'd be writing a blog.  I'm not a terrific writer and don't particularly enjoy it.  Right now this is set up only as a sort of self-accounting of my weight loss struggle.  If I'm able to keep up with this, enjoy it I may branch out, but right now... it's just an accounting system to try and stay on track on my weight loss journey.

A little background, I have been over weight for about 6-7 years.  LAZINESS is the key to my weight gain.  There are some addition factors, I'd love to blame the two kids and numerous other things, but basically it boils down to "I AM LAZY!!".  I hate exercising.  Hate it, the only time I have been remotely successful was when I was taking a kickboxing class, see there accountablity - daily face-to-face accountability, but so far I have been unable to mesh, work, family and exercise to a schedule that has everyone, and by everyone I mean hubby and the kids, happy.  

I was on the Jenny Craig Program and was able to loose about 10lbs, however due to money I have been unable to continue.  I'm trying to stick with the program and so far (2 months out) I haven't gained anything back, however I haven't lost anything either.  I've come to the conclusion the only way to make this work is to exercise.  I'm trying to watch calorie intake, however food on the whole isn't my problem, sweets, Coke and the weekends are my problem.  Not to mention a distinct lack of self-controll.  Amazing that I am so easily able to diagnose the issue, but have so far in my 36 years been unable to change the core issue. 

Right now my overall goal is 50lbs.

Today:  Watch what I eat, lunch is a lean cuisine and a salad.  No more than 400 calories.  And to start my new exercise endevour the Couch to 5K plan.  The plan takes 9 weeks.  Today is the first day, I already have it all set up, as soon as I get the boys down, it's outside or down to the treadmill.
