How do people do it?

I'm just not sure, how people fit things in?  I'm up at 6:30, rushing around getting ready for work, bumping into walls I'm so tired, listening to Chase over the monitor ready to get up.  I'm working as hard as I can to get the boys dressed and out the door before 8, not always rarely accomplishing that time-frame.  It's after 9 before getting into work, I'm working at my desk through lunch so I can leave at 5, to sit in traffic and get home by 6:30. Then I rush around just trying to get a little time in with my boys, so I can absorb just a small fraction of the wonder that is them. Then it's 7pm, and it's time for Chase to go to bed, then it's time to get Evan ready and in bed.  Of course then you play the "I don't want to go to bed" game, with books, drinks, and the occasional "mommy I have to go potty".  By the time that ends it's well after 8:30, sometimes after 9.  I still haven't eaten dinner, let alone picked up the house, done any laundry or even had 10 minutes to try and unwind from the day.  It's hard to imagine that I'm still in survival mode (quote from Dr. Walsh), when my youngest is 16 months, but I swear that's what I'm in.  Survival mode.  Feels like that's just how we're going to live life, just getting from one minute to the next never having time to just relax and have fun.  Let alone 30 minutes to exercise.

Ok, now that I've rambled on forever and complained and once again making excuses for my lack of activity.  All I can do is just continue with my plan to exercise whenever I can get the time.  Hopefully, the boys will go down easy tonight and I'll be able to get to the basement and do the program.  And honestly that's all I can do, just hope and pray that I can get it done.

  1. Wow...I'm exhausted just reading your account! I don't work outside the home, so I can't even begin to imagine the stress of managing a family and a job. Hang in there! Each day you make it through is a success, even if you do feel like you're living in survival mode. I definitely admire your perserverance!
